Graduate and Post-Graduate Grants in the Philippines

Four grants programs available to Filipino students are found below.

  1. The Innovation for Inclusive Development (IID) Fellows Program is open to individuals from ASEAN member states who have experience in creating courses and modules on Inclusive Development. The deadline for submission of application is on May 30, 2014.
  2. The Institute for Philippine Culture Postdoctoral Scholarly Research Award calls for applications from recent holders of doctoral degree who intend to turn their dissertation (on a variety of topics including women and gender) to publication. The deadline for submission of application is June 30, 2014 and January 2015 for fellowships beginning October 2014 and May 2015, respectively.
  3. The Nippon Foundation Fellowships for Asian Public Intellectuals is open to residents of Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. The deadline of submission of application is usually in August of the year before the intended academic year applied for. The program has project themes every year which become a basis in their selection of successful applicants.
  4. Scholarship grants for graduate and post-graduate students are also available under the Fulbright Commission’s Philippine-American Education Foundation (PAEF). Applications are accepted as early as in January the year before the academic year applied for.

Regular Calls for Applications

Collections of calls for applications are found in the following organizations/websites.

  1. The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) lists their funding opportunities for NGOs, individual researchers,  and graduate students. They accept applications for existing projects as well as project proposals.
  2. Grants for NGOs and individual development workers are also found in Funds for NGOs. Calls for papers, calls for project proposals, and calls for application to fellowship programs are only some of the opportunities found here.
  3. The Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID) posts calls for participation in various activities including ongoing projects, project proposals, conferences, and publications.
  4. The Australian National University (ANU) also posts calls for applications on their Gender Institute News. Also found here are calls for papers, job vacancies, and scholarship announcements both in the ANU and in other international organizations.
